I stand I sink - in dry in waste

Bones bent backward, limbs displaced

Gazing upward I make haste

Choosing you instead

I dream I think - in time in space

Ground gone ghostly, steps retraced

Round this desert berth I pace

Dust within the tread

I stare I blink - in eyes in face

Stone split scattered, receiving grace

Give me fight & fingers laced

Give to me my bread
